Local Boston construction company Skanska was in for a surprise while preparing the site for a new 17-story office building. Partway though the initial dig, the team was shocked to find a shipwreck!
According to one article about the find, “City archaeologist Joe Bagley said Thursday it’s the first time a shipwreck has been found in that section of the city and only the second one found on land that was filled in to expand the city’s footprint. Also, unlike most other wrecks, its cargo is mostly intact.”
With such an incredible find, construction was halted and archeologists were brought in to investigate the ship. See what they found!
