Robotics Help Injured People Walk Again

Robotics technology has made another great stride in helping those affected by spinal cord injuries. Described on their website as “A wearable robotic exoskeleton that provides powered hip and knee motion to enable individuals with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) to stand upright and walk,” ReWalk Robotics has created a device that allows previously wheelchair-bound people to gain back their mobility.

After rigorous studies and trials, ReWalk has received clearance from the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) that the ReWalk Personal System could be utilized for at home use, as of June 2014.

“This revolutionary product will have an immediate, life-changing impact on individuals with spinal cord injuries,” said Larry Jasinski, CEO of ReWalk Robotics. Check out this video to see the results for yourself!
